Pewaukee Lake Tours
Pontoon Tour InformationHistoric Pontoon Tours of Pewaukee Lake
The City of Pewaukee Tourism Committee sponsors historic pontoon tours of Pewaukee Lake provided through the Park and Recreation Department each summer. The tour consists of a two-hour cruise filled with rich history and fascinating points of interest narrated by volunteers from Pewaukee who live on the lake.
Learn about the history of the lake including facts such as how the lake came to be, how the railroad affected the lake as well as what Pewaukee was known for back in 1880. See what was the home of Waukesha Beach, an amusement center that brought hundreds of thousands of visitors to the area each year. Along with many other interesting facts, you will learn about the historic homes as well as new homes that now surround the lake’s shores.
The tour takes place typically during daytime hours on Wednesdays once a month between June and September. Each tour is limited to 11 passengers. If you are interested in taking a tour, please call the Park and Recreation Department at 262-691-7275 for tour availability. (There is a nominal fee charged.)
