Zoning Board of Appeals

The Zoning Board of Appeals was established for the purpose of hearing appeals and applications for granting variances and exceptions to the provisions of Chapter 17 of the Municipal Code. The Zoning Board of Appeals consists of five (5) members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Common Council. Terms are staggered for three year periods. The Chairman is designated by the Mayor. Two alternates members are appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by the Common Council, for staggered 3 year terms. The Mayor annually designates one of the alternate members as the 1st alternate and the other as 2nd alternate.
