Press Release
August 12, 2025
For Immediate Release:
A sanitary sewer overflow occurred at N25 W27675 Prospect Avenue in the City of Pewaukee. The overflow occurred at approximately 1:30 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 10th, 2025.
A high amount of inflow was experienced due to heavy rains, high lake and stream levels and power outages. The sewer department was on site monitoring the lift stations, taking all necessary steps to limit any public health hazards or potential harmful effects on the environment.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has been notified. Pursuant to the requirement of NR210, this press release is being issued regarding this event. Residents are encouraged to make sure sump pumps are not connected to the sanitary sewer system. This will assist in reducing flow amounts.
