Fall Hydrant Flushing Notice
The City Water & Sewer Utility will be conducting hydrant flushing on weekdays from September 22 through October 31 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Hydrant flushing is performed twice each year, in spring and fall, to ensure hydrants are operating properly, verify water pressure and flow, and remove sediment from the water mains to help maintain water clarity and quality.
During flushing, you may notice temporary water discoloration. This is normal, and your water will remain safe to drink. If discoloration occurs, run your cold water tap for several minutes until it clears. To avoid possible laundry staining, please do not do laundry during scheduled flushing times. If laundry cannot be postponed and you are unsure whether flushing is occurring in your area, please contact the Utility office at (262) 691-0804.
