Residents invited to volunteer in community projects and programs

(Waukesha, WI) – Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow is pleased to announce the kick-off of Waukesha County Park System’s new Conservation in the Parks programs beginning in early 2019 and continuing throughout the year. Volunteers are needed to become Citizen Scientists within the many natural areas of the county.

Citizen Scientists will work with park staff to help monitor wetlands, birds, small mammals, amphibians, reptiles, butterflies, and more! This research will guide land management decisions for restoration and preservation of parkland. No prior experience is required, all training and equipment will be provided.

To learn more about becoming a Citizen Scientist, attend a free information session at Retzer Nature Center, S14W28167 Madison Street, Waukesha. Registration is required by Wednesday, January 9.
