JOB CENTERS IN WAUKESHA, OZAUKEE, AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES RESPOND
TO COVID-19
(WAUKESHA,
WI) – The three Workforce Development
Center locations in Mequon, Pewaukee, and West Bend are temporarily modifying
service delivery approaches to protect customers and staff in response to the
COVID-19 outbreak. These efforts align with recent changes at the technical
college host sites of Milwaukee Area Technical College, Moraine Park Technical
College, and Waukesha County Technical College, as well as state and federal
guidance.
Effective
March 16, 2020, the Workforce Development Centers are postponing workshops,
events, large group activities, and some face-to-face activities consistent
with recent CDC guidance as well as new COVID-19 protocols issued at each
technical college campus. The Workforce Development Center remains open to the
public and will continue to offer limited one-on-one appointments, access to
computers in the resource room, and enrollment in programs and services. When
feasible, most services and appointments will be offered virtually or via
phone. The goal is to support social distancing efforts and reduce the exposure
to protect customers. Additionally, hourly cleaning protocols are in place for
all public areas including lobbies, reception areas, and computers.
Workforce
Development Center partner agencies and staff will continue to address the
critical needs of businesses and job seekers during the COVID-19 outbreak. For
