(Waukesha, WI) – Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow and Johnson’s Nursery, Inc. invite residents and groups to volunteer to help the park system plant trees at Menomonee Park on Friday, April 30 to celebrate Arbor Day. Time slots are available between 9 a.m. and noon for the annual large-scale volunteer event. Menomonee Park is located at W220 N7884 Town Line Road in Menomonee Falls.

“We are thrilled to have Johnson’s Nursery join us this year in our commitment to improving our County’s green spaces by planting native trees each Arbor Day,” said County Executive Paul Farrow. “Native trees provide important habitat for wildlife and enhance the beauty of our public spaces,”

 Residents and groups can register for a time slot to assist park staff in the planting of 35 trees and shrubs donated from Johnson’s Nursery, Inc. and 300 native tree seedlings from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Nursery.  Volunteers interested in planting trees should pre-register for a time slot online at Attendees will receive free park entrance and a free seedling to take home (while supplies last). Participants should dress for the weather and bring their own work gloves. Pre-registration is required by April 28 to ensure a spot.
