One-Day Collections Events Open to Residents Throughout the Year

(Waukesha, WI) - Municipalities throughout Waukesha County will host special one-day events for the collection of household hazardous waste items in order to keep them out of landfills. The events are free and open to any Waukesha County resident with proof of residency.

“These collection events are a great way to safely discard of old products after cleaning out your home or garage,” said Analiese Smith, Recycling & Solid Waste Supervisor for Waukesha County. “If the items can no longer be used, removing these potentially toxic products from your trash collection allows them to be disposed of properly.”

  • June 19: Delafield - City Dept. of Public Works, 111 Main Street
  • September 11: Oconomowoc - City Public Works Garage, 630 South Worthington Street

Permanent Household Hazardous Waste Collection Sites

  • Village of Menomonee Falls – Veolia Environmental Services
  • City of Waukesha – City Incinerator Building

Old, unusable chemicals, pesticides, wood preservatives, solvents, and oil-based paints will be accepted. Latex paint, non-hazardous cleaning materials, motor oil and oil filters will not be accepted.   Residents will be required to have their ID to verify proof of residency in Waukesha County.
