City Hall Solar Array
The City of Pewaukee is excited to announce that the solar array installed at City Hall was successfully commissioned on December 30, 2024.
The City contracted with Current Electric in April 2024 to install solar panels that will virtually eliminate electric bills for the City Hall building. The ground-based collection of solar panels is located in a field adjacent to City Hall. Over 30% of the project cost is covered by the Investment Tax Credit provided by the Inflation Reduction Act and the Focus on Energy Business Customer PV Incentive.
The installation of solar will have long-term cost-saving impacts for the City and its residents. The system will pay for itself in just over a decade and will generate enough power to lower the WE Energy bill to almost zero.
Sustainability is an important aspect of the City’s Strategic Plan, and this project satisfies one of the more significant goals of the Propelling Pewaukee Sustainability Plan.
