  • The beach opens Memorial Day Weekend and closes Labor Day Weekend. The beach hours are 7:00am-dusk. Pewaukee Beach is Swim at Your Own Risk, there are no lifeguards on duty.

  • Yes, the beach is tested on a weekly basis for fecal coliform counts. If the counts are too high (deemed by the testing agency), the beach will be closed and will be retested until the water is safe to swim in.

  • In either instance, please call the Park Maintenance department (262-691-7275) to report the issue. We will attempt to have the tree removed as quickly as possible.

  • Typically the Parks/Recreation Department starts hiring for seasonal part-time employment for the summer in the recreation department and park maintenance department as early as March. Open positions will be posted on the City of Pewaukee's website under employment. Individuals interested in teaching classes or offering new programs through the department should contact the Parks & Recreation office at: 262-691-7275.

  • Parks are typically open during the peak season (May through September) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. This means if there are restrooms available on site, we will have them open during those hours. During non-peak season, parks are still usable during those specified hours however restrooms will not be available.

  • There is detailed information regarding rentals including rates, guidelines and procedures on the Parks/Recreation Department webpage under Rent A Park. To rent a park, you must call the office at 262-691-7275. You should have in mind what park you want to rent, what date, time, the number of people you expect to attend, and the purpose of the rental. Residents of both the Village and City of Pewaukee receive the resident rate for rentals - a resident MUST be the person making the rental for the resident rate to be given.

  • We appreciate the watchful eyes of our residents to help us maintain the parks. We do not see every park every day so if you notice something regarding vandalism at one of the parks, please call our office at 262-691-7275 to report it. Or send us an email; be sure to let us know the park, exact location of the vandalism and what kind of vandalism it is (ie spray paint, broken equipment, etc.)

  • No. If you are on a waitlist for a class, payment does not need to be made. If you get into the program, the office will call you and at that time we will arrange for payment. Only cash or checks are acceptable forms of payment.

  • Program guides are mailed to property tax payers for the fall/winter and winter/spring session. The summer session is mailed to all residents of the Village and City of Pewaukee based on the postal rural route. The winter/spring program guide is mailed in December, the summer guide is mailed in April and the fall/winter guide is mailed in August.

  • If you believe you left something at a Pewaukee park, we recommend you go back to the park to look for it. Due to the high amount of found items, the Department does not generally obtain and keep objects left at parks unless they are something of significant value such as a wallet, watch, phone or keys. If you have found such items at a park, please drop it off at the Parks & Recreation office in Pewaukee City Hall.

  • No, programs are designed according to age and/or instructor/student ratios or level that will best benefit the student. Please do not ask us to exceed class limits or put your child in the wrong age or skill level.

  • Fall, Winter/Spring and Summer Activity Guides are mailed directly to all households in the City and Village. Current guides are posted on the Parks & Recreation website or are available for pick up at Pewaukee City Hall.

  • Programs may be cancelled for low enrollment or instructor or facility conflicts. We make every attempt to run all of our programs, but if a program is cancelled by our Department, you will receive a refund. Program cancellation information will be emailed to participants along with a refund receipt.

  • We do not prorate for any programs. If you register after the program starts or if you are going to miss a class, we will not prorate that class.

  • Full refunds will not be issued unless a program is cancelled by the Park/Recreation Department. Participants who request a refund not less than 1 week prior to the first day of the program will receive a refund of the class price less a $10 administrative fee. Requests within 1 week of program start or after program start will not receive a refund except in the case of a medical reason document by a physician.

  • If you prefer a credit toward a future class, you may request one prior to being issued a refund. Credits are non-refundable and expire after one year.

  • We will send a receipt via email to all participants that provide an email address. We will not provide any further updates on regularly scheduled program information.

  • The Department strives to offer programs that the community wants and needs. However many of our programs are limited to what facility space we have available, whether or not we can find an instructor for the program and also what the current program trends are.

  • Pewaukee Parks and Recreation Department (the “Department”) encourages individuals with disabilities to participate in recreational programming. To that end, the Department offers inclusive recreational programs and activities. The term “Inclusion” means that individuals with disabilities are “included” in our recreation programs. People with and without disabilities participate together in the same way, in the same place, and enjoy the same benefits. Our Department is pleased to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations.

  • The Pewaukee Kiwanis Club offers a limited amount of scholarship funds to our department for Pewaukee resident families in need. If you would like to inquire about a scholarship, please contact the Parks & Recreation Director, Nick Phalin at: phalin@pewaukee.wi.us.
