About the Pewaukee Fire Department
The Pewaukee Fire Department is located in central Waukesha County in southeast Wisconsin. We are a combination department operating from two stations that are staffed 24 hours a day.

Employees
There are currently 18 full-time line firefighters and 40 paid on premise members.

Fire Chief Kevin I. Bierce is supported by one assistant chief and one administrative assistant.

Shifts
Four division chiefs run the rotating shifts. Red, green, and black shifts follow the Detroit schedule (24 hours on, 24 hours off, 24 hours on, 24 hours off, 24 hours on, 96 hours off).

Winter Season
Due to the colder weather associated with Wisconsin winters always be aware of our changing air temperature.  Please make sure you dress appropriately for the weather. Remember that thawing and freezing can occur at any time and ice can form on sidewalks, driveways and streets. Make sure you give yourself additional time for all your travels.  Only use approved and appropriate heating devices designed for use in your homes to assist with heating.  Please remember that no ice is safe ice on any of our lakes, ponds, rivers or streams.  Please have an enjoyable and safe Wisconsin winter.

High Risk Individuals
Those at greatest risk of cold weather-related illness include:
  • Infants and children
  • People 65 years of age or older
  • People with chronic illnesses
