Contractor Licensing Requirements:
All initial, reinstatement, and renewal applications for a contractor credentials can be made through the State of Wisconsin LicensE Website. Contact the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) directly for more information.

The City of Pewaukee partners with E-Plan Exam for Commercial Plan Review! Plans for most projects that would normally be submitted to the State of Wisconsin (DSPS) can be submitted through E-Plan Exam using the link below.

What to Expect:
- Who Should Submit: Designers/owners for Building, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Alarm, and Fire Sprinkler plans as applicable under SPS 361–366 and 380–387.
- Completeness Matters: Upload all required application forms, drawings. E-Plan Exam’s team will contact you regarding fees to begin review as well as verify that they have everything needed to do a review. Please include your suite/unit number on the application to ensure it is linked to the correct project.
- Typical Timeline: E-Plan Exam guarantees 15 days turn around for any plan review from the date of a full and complete submission, including fee payment. Frequently Asked Questions can be found at this link.

If you do not receive a confirmation email within 2 business days, please call us to confirm it has been received. We cannot receive New Home Packets or large Commercial projects via email. These need to be dropped off in-person due to the printed plans required.

It can take up to a week for us to receive your application via mail. The processing time of 10 business days begins upon us receiving the application. Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 AM-4:30 PM.
Once the permit has been submitted then processed (this can take up to 10 business days), you will be contacted with the fee amount and permit number. We accept payment via:

| Check: Please make your check out to "City of Pewaukee" | Online Portal: Via our Online Permit Payment Service. Please enter your permit number, then follow the steps to complete your payment. Transaction fees will apply and are non-refundable. |
Inspections Can Be Scheduled By Calling 262-691-9107.
Inspections are offered Tuesday-Friday, 12 -5 PM.* We cannot guarantee set times but the inspector can call before arrival.
*Please Note: Commercial Electric Inspections are offered on Tuesday & Thursday mornings.
Please allow at least 48 hours notice for an inspection. No work may commence without having first obtained the permit. Work done without a permit may result in additional fees.
